Saturday

Saturday is our first SuperDog demo! I'm nervous, but, I'm sure we will be okay.
We are not doing too much, just some agility and high jump, maybe some obedience as the day wears on and she gets tired (ie settles down), a bit of solo flyball.
We had a practice last night, she was hyper at first, but once she got a little worn out, she was good. Practice makes perfect.
Yup, I'm a little nervous... but excited too.

Movies

I have the movie network, so watch a lot of movies, I'm a movieholic.... so, I'm gonna start rating movies too (1-5 stars) But don't judge by my rating, as most of you know, I rarely see a movie I don't like... LOL this is also a way (like with the books) to remember what I've seen and haven't seen... not that my memory is that bad. Ah, just something fun to do.
Can't remember all the one's I've seen recently (as in over the past year), but, I will try to remember most of them:
The 40 Year Old Virgin ***** Definitely lived up to the hype. Lots of laugh out loud moments.
A Cinderella Story **** Really cute
Alexander ***** Great if you know some Greek mythology, if you don't, kind of confusing
Alfie *** Not that great, but Jude is cute (and I like his name)
The Amityville Horror **** Ryan Reynolds rocks!!!! And it wasn't that scarey
Around the World in 80 Days *** Fun, but cheesy
Bewitched **** Cute
The Butterfly Effect ***** AWESOME movie!!!!
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ***** Love Jonny Depp, he's such a cameleon!
The Chronicals of Narnia **** Watched on the plane, not as good as the books for sure!
Crash ***** Deserved that Oscar
Deep Impact ***** Watched for about the 300th time. I love this movie, more 'misty' moments than in any chick flick, and truly a 'what if' type of film. Despite the title, not porn.
Derailed ***** OMG was that Jennifer Aniston?
Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story **** Better than I thought. Why is it that Ben Stiller's wife always hates him onscreen? Vince Vaughan is waaay better looking than Brad Pitt, go Jen, I think you ended up with the better man in the long run!
Dukes of Hazzard ** *Yawn* Do I hear snoring?
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind **** Quirky
Fantastic Four **** Not bad.... part two will be better for sure
Finding Neverland **** Cute
First Daughter **** Not bad in a simple way
Flight of the Phoenix *** Not bad, too bad the previews gave away the ending though
Flightplan **** Is she crazy, or not, am I crazy, or not, one of those movies that gets you questioning
The Girl Next Door ***** Very cute, and I loved the ending! Don't watch with your parents.... or kids!
Girl With a Pearl Earring *** I can't believe how much she looked like the girl in the painting.
The Grudge ** Silly
Guess Who *** Thought it was cute when I first saw it, but it's downgraded to three stars because I recorded it and started watching it again without remembering I'd seen it already... how memorable!
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ***** Love the Potter! My fave of the books
Herbie: Fully Loaded *** Fun movie for a night of not thinking
Hero ***** I love these oriental films, the visuals... so amazing, the colours, the flow of fabric, just incredible.
Hitch **** Good, but had some frustrating moments
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ***** "So long, and thanks for all the fish" LOL
Hoodwinked **** The true story of little red riding hood.
How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days **** Could have been better, but it had Matthew McConahey (sp?) doing the changing of the shirt scene from Working Girl, so.....nuf said
In Her Shoes **** Good chick flick. Let's all grow up and be mature!
The Island **** Awesome! Loses a star because, again, the trailer gave away the premise, would have been cool if we didn't know about the 'secret' either. Reminded me a bit of Logan's Run.
Kingdom of Heaven **** You need to know the history a little to watch it, "Legolas" buffed up!
Ladder 49 **** A lot better than I thought it was gonna be.
Lemony Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events **** The kiddies will like it
Madagascar ***** Cute! The only problem I have with these animated movies is that I'm always trying to figure out who the voices belong to.
Man of the House *** Cheesy
March of the Penguins ***** Awesome documentary. Cool info, and Morgan Freeman has the perfect voice for narration. Did you know that a male penguin goes 4 months without food, just to keep the egg safe and warm. Baby penguins are cute, I want one!!!
Memoirs of a Geisha **** Could have used a better ending... maybe reading the book will help, great movie though
Monster in Law **** If I get one like that, shoot me!
Mr. and Mrs. Smith ***** I didn't know it was a comedy, so much fun!
Must Love Dogs ***** Cute! Kinda reminded me of my life last fall. The disclaimer: "No animals were harmed during the making of this film... though they were petted to within an inch of their lives."
Mystic River *** Sooooo slow. It didn't have to be 2 1/2 hours long.
Napoleon Dynamite * Wow! Who the hell!?!? Could there have been a dumber movie ever made?
National Treasure ***** AWESOME!!!!!!!!
The Notebook *** Not as great as everyone said... maybe the build up was too much, but I really didn't care for it
Open Water *** Really not that bad, never scuba diving, I'll tell ya that much
Raising Helen **** Another cute, don't have to think, movie
Red Eye ***** Not good for a woman who's about to travel alone to see, but hey, great movie. Pretty gross scene with the pen
Rent **** Okay.... love Angel!!!! He da man....er woman!
Robots ***** So much fun!
Saved **** Funny, if you're not Catholic
Saw ***** Love the psychological thrillers, can't wait for part two to come on TMN
Sin City ***** Artistic
Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants ***** Good chick flick
Sky High have to give this one ***** just for the pure fun of the movie!!!
Summer with the Ghosts ** Canadian movie, I'm ashamed to admit I even watched this
Syriana * Hated it! nuf said
Tim Burton's Corpse Bride ***** WOW! Can't believe it was 1 1/2 hours, it went so quickly. I really don't know how anyone could have the patience to do stop motion animation, they did a great job though.
The Village **** Great twist
Transamerica ***** What can I say that hasn't been said.... good film!!!!
Walk the Line ***** Awesome performances, Joaquin did an amazing job!
War of the Worlds *** Gets a low grade because of the cheesy ending. Love the tripods, super freaky at the beginning when the first one comes out of the ground and ejects the dirt while making the 'scream'. Good "run for your life, the world is ending" movie.
Wedding Crashers *** Not bad, but not good either. Gawd I hate rich people!
The Wedding Date **** Really cute
White Noise ** Umm.... different
Zathura **** Jumunji in space. Some good little giggle moments, and a weepy/WTF moment. Last line of the movie will keep you giggling through the credits
Like with the books, I'm gonna add as I go, so don't judge by the date of the posting....LOL

Saturn Sky

Well, no sooner did I get home from work then Derek calls saying that he is inside a Sky Roadster and near my place, would I like to take it for a spin? Of course! I was going to get one when they first came out (well, if we had stayed together since he had the Jeep and I would have that, and we could trade back and forth, but that went to pot... so, no Sky for Jude), the two seater is just too inconvenient with poochy and all her sport necesseties. The Sky is actually sold out and people are actually putting their names on the waiting list for next summer delivery, so, this was a very rare opportunity, so I jumped at it.
It's very nice, some funky little features, comfy seats, nice sound from back and front, great shifting, comfy steering wheel, and of course is hot, hot, hot!!! Inside and out, it's so nice to look at. We got stares as we were driving, especially from the younger guys. There aren't many Sky's in the area, even though they are sold out, so it's a rare sight. I did a lot of high revs, and tried some tight turns, but because I don't know the vehicle didn't get as tight as I could. One thing that's always concerned me with convertibles is my hair blowing, but it wasn't so bad.
All in all, it was an enjoyable drive. I would love to have one, but, oh well, what can you do, have to take convenience over pleasure.

Electrical Problems

ACK!!!! What a freakin' week!!!!
First I accidentally 'permanently deleted' everything in my inbox!!! Now, I only keep important messages in my inbox, stuff I want to keep! So, all that's gone. *sigh*
The second accident is much worse, let me paint the picture.... I was on my way to pick up my mom to go to the lake for my grand-nephew and grand-neice's birthday party. I had everything set to go.... purse at the door, camera at the door, cell phone in pocket, Willow's leash on, everything except taking that final pee. So, I run into the bathroom, and as soon as I whip down my pants I hear a sound, like something heavy falling into the toilet. I turn around to see the most horrifying sight.... my phone, open and turned on sitting at the bottom of the potty!!! I have never reached into a toilet before, but my hand was in there so fast and I scooped it out and plopped a towel around it and took it apart and dried everything out. Well, it didn't work. So, I left to pick up mom and tried again... nope, nothing. So, I left it on her table in pieces hoping it would dry out. We went to the party and got home a few hours later, I tried the phone and it sort of came on, but died again, so I left it again. I called Rogers and they said that it would be $420 to replace the phone as this isn't covered and is not repairable, the only phones they have in their lost, stolen, or damaged department (which are supposed to be cheaper) were phones with no features for $140!!! No, I want my RAZR, or at least something with similar features. I told the guy to nevermind, I would try ebay or something, maybe a friend has something I can buy or borrow or something. So, around 8:00 I try it again, and OH it came on... so, I was answering Mohab's five text messages and was just about to send it when it froze. So, I took the battery out to try again, and got nothing but a lit keypad, no screen. So, I will leave it overnight and hopefully it will work in the morning. *fingers crossed* Derek will look at it for me, hopefully he can fix it. Hopefully if there is damage it is just the SIM card they are fairly cheap to replace. Wish me luck!!!!!

So Tired

Not physically, well, sort of, but that's just because of the mental exhaustion. I'm tired of everything not going right my whole life, everytime something goes well with my life something else goes wrong, why, what's wrong, what did I do to deserve this? Was I such a horrid person in my past life? I try to do good, shouldn't I get some in return?
I'm tired of not working, I need money, there is too much month and not enough money. I am thinking of moving back in with mother, just to save up a bit, but is it really worth my sanity?!?! I will only get about 24 hours this week, and who knows about next week, I need at least 34 just to pay the bills with no play money. My bank account's favourite colour is red, and has been for some time. Would be different if I wasn't my sole support. Maybe I should get myself fired and go on EI for a while, I would probably make more that way.
Dealing with all the studying and research with immigration is not easy either, seems like everytime I think 'yeah, okay shouldn't be too hard' something comes up, or I hear some story from someone about just how hard it really is. I don't want to wait years, I want him here by next spring! It's so hard having the man you love on the other side of the world, not able to make physical contact with them. It's actually draining.
Then there is some other shit going on, but we won't get into that because half the people out there would think me insane. Let's just say that it's been a monkey on my back for 14 years, literally, time to shake it off!
So, then tonight I get told that Willow needs to see another trainer, someone more expert in flyball to cure her chasing problem. The fee for the classes is not a problem, basically it would just take over the fee I'm already paying for team practice, the big problem is that the trainer lives in Caledonia (I think) so it's the gas money, and the time to drive out there (1 1/2 hours each way). If she has weekend classes, that would be great, but I think it's only Monday nights, and that's the same night as agility and we are enjoying agility and I would really rather stick with that. Maybe Willow is just not cut out to be a flyball dog after all, maybe the solo sports are better for her. We will see, I guess, Morgan is contacting another lady she knows who is starting up a team and telling her about us, they need a speed dog.... hopefully we can get this chasing problem solved! Damn dogs! If she only knew.
