Guess It's Been Awhile
Was told today that I need to do an update. I don't really know what to write, not much has been going on.
It's winter, blah, I really hate winter. Feel like hibernating, wish I could.
Willow and I are doing Intermediate Obedience now and I was told yesterday that we would probably do well in Rally-O. So, that's five sports!!!!
Willow got a little bite at daycare last Tuesday, it was a puncture wound over her right eye (thank goodness it wasn't an inch over or it would have hit her in the eye). It's healing nicely thanks to lots of diligent care and infection prevention. Now she seems to have an infection in the left eye. Poor girl, double whamy.
Been having a nasty time at work lately. The girls I work with on Wednesdays and Fridays are great and we all get along wonderfully, why wouldn't we, we've been together for more than five years. But, the girls that I work with on Tuesdays and Thursdays are just downright mean. Any little mistake I make I get shouted at about and the 'mistakes' are just differences in the two offices, everyone does things differently. So, hopefully a new position opens up that would be better for me. The two good ones that I work with are hoping this doesn't happen, but for my sanity I hope it does.
I'm going back to Egypt hopefully in August, and yes we will be getting married then. It's the only way that we can be together as it is a tonne of work and a tonne of money for him to come here even just for a visit. So, the wedding date would be August 23 which is a Thursday, that way in 2008 it will be a Saturday so we can do the year-to-date thing here. Hopefully, he is here by then. I know, it is a hard thing for some family members and some friends to understand, but they will just have to understand, I'm doing what's right for me, for once I have to.
How's that for an update?

Ok, so this means you're moving to Eygpt and getting married next August. WOW! That is a bit of a surprise considering the treatment you got from the Egyptian public about interracial relationships! Plus you said that you like grass too much! LOL. But it is your life Judy and this is the path it's taking and you're happy, that's what matters. I'm sure most people are just concerned about you Judy. Fears rule so many people's lives. I'm sure your family are afraid you'll get hurt or disappear off the face of the planet. Besides I wouldn't be too thrilled to hear my sister was moving to the other side of the planet to a country and culture I don't know much or understand much about. That being said though, I would want her to be happy too. And it's not like you're 18 yrs old and don't know squat! You're a big girl and you know what you're doing! So I guess you must be busy making the plans for the trip and tying up the loose ends here in Canada. Are you taking Willow? Let's hear you're wedding plans too. I'm sure your mom must be happy yet sad at the same time. Are any of your family going to make it over for the wedding? Thank god for the internet! You'll have to keep in touch. Bet ya you'll talk more to people once you move than you do when you live around the corner from them. That's what happened to us. We hear from people more now then we did before. Well keep your chin up and getting married over there is a bit of a blessing. Believe me you really don't want to put up with the shit that goes on when your planning a wedding. All of a sudden, the fact that you ARE the bride is forgotten and stupid little details become big huge problems. And then there is always some ass in the family who starts making the, 'if you have it here, I'm not coming!', 'if you don't invite so-in-so, I'm not coming'! yep I went through that! I finally agreed to allowing my parents to put on the reception for me so the bickering between mom and I would stop! ACK the memories. I've always told people if you don't have some religious ceremony that's really important to you, buy a plane ticket and get married in the Bahamas! Eygpt, Bahamas, same thing! LOL I know not really but there are a lot of hassels you want have to deal with from this end. Let's hope his family do everything for ya and then you just have to show up! LOL Take care and I hope all your dreams come true. Big hugs from an old friend who'll miss you lots!

WHOA!!!! Talk about jumping the gun! Nowhere in that entry did I say I was moving to Egypt. Guess you missed the part where I said "the wedding date would be August 23 which is a Thursday, that way in 2008 it will be a Saturday so we can do the year-to-date thing here. Hopefully, he is here by then".
Nope, definitely like grass waaaay too much. Feet are staying firmly planted in Canada, 'cept for vacations of course.
opps sorry, you said getting married in Egypt and I assumed you had to stay there because of immgration laws. Friends of mine have married Americans. They went to the states to get married and couldn't return for like a year. Even Ian's sister, who had all the paper work in order was almost not allowed back across the border for their reception up here. Somehow they were able to talk their way around it. That was 16 yrs ago though and way before 9/11 and the security measures they take now. So I put one and one together and came up with three instead of two. But obviously you've checked this all out. Ok so if you're not moving what is the plan?
That was me
ok re-read the post and how the hell did I miss that little piece of info. Oh well call it a brain fart but it's been fun freaking you out!LOL JK but you can still answer the other questions! hehe
