Stuff

Went to our first team Flyball practice on Wednesday. Finally got a time on Willow. We started out at 5.8 seconds... which really sucks. She just sauntered down to the box, and blasted back to me. She was in a new building, with new dogs, and new people, plus she is used to doing about a 35 foot course and this one is the regulation 52 feet (one way) so a lot longer than she is used to. She did well with passing exercises and her precision is good, she runs a straight course and hits all four legs off the box! So, by the end of the night we had to down to 4.79... only a sixth of a second where I want her to be (I figure she can be at least a 4.2) Now that spring is almost here, I can get her out more and start working on her, our, stamina... we will need it as we start Agility on April 24th.
********************
I took my Dukoral today... the Cholera vaccine.... yuck!!!! For those of you who have not done it, it is a drink, you mix these supposedly raspberry flavoured effervescent capsules in water then add the vaccine, then down the hatch! The first gulp is not so bad kinda like raspberry pop, the second is a little salty, and the third is downright gross! Thought I would puke! And, to make it that much better, there are two doses and the next is done next weekend!

Julie and I went shopping the other night for stuff for the trip... spent tonnes and then when I got home I was like "holy crap, what did I buy?" not much!!!! Still need to get a couple more things. All I really need to do now is take my second dose of Dukoral and pack! The plane tickets still haven't come in yet... hopefully soon. I'm afraid I will forget my passport! LOL

Whoo Hoo

Finally got some answers regarding the next step with Willow and her future as a Flyball dog.
We start practicing with a team next Wednesday and every Wednesday from then on.
Also, starting in April, when I get back from Egypt, we are going to take some Agility lessons to start to prep her for the SuperDog shows. That should be fun! I have to consider all the classes an investment as I'm sure that I will start to make money off her sooner or later with all of this.
She is doing so well with Flyball, a natural, she even knows what the word means. She is the only dog in the class that is actually doing everything properly. The only thing we have to work on is her herd drive with the other dogs and get her to ignore them.... that has been the hard part (although Spencer was barking at her tonight and she ignored him to run the course :D)
Our team is called Time Bandits, and we practice in Richmond Hill (ah, it's only half an hour drive from here, not so bad!) http://www.flyball.com/bandits/

Things To See

So, recently I've been told for not writing, lol. I really have nothing to write about.
So, how about a list of things/places I would like to see in my life:
1) The Pyramids of Egypt, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Isis (she is my deity afterall), etc.... Egypt!
2) Stonehenge, Glatsonbury Tor (a.k.a. Avalon), and the medieval tour of England, especially the site where they think Camelot stood.
3) The Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Meteor Crator, etc, Arizona
4) Ayer's Rock a.k.a. Uluru, Australia.... not to mention.... Australia!
5) The Great Wall of China
6) The Sistine Chapel and Colosseum, Italy
7) The Parthenon, Greece
8) The Mayan Ruins
9) Easter Island
10) Iceland
Ten things.... life's too short. If I can just do the first four, I will be very happy (of course, number 1 will happen within a month). Hey, I'm only 32, I still have a lot of time.
And like I said, things/places, my idea of a trip is NOT sitting on a beach at some fancy resort, it's seeing things, history, the culture of a place.... *sigh*

Can't Believe it's Actually Happening!

We booked our tickets for Egypt today. April 2-16 is when we go, two days longer than originally planned, but there were no flights for return on the 14th. She got us the last two tickets on the plane!
I can't believe I'm actually going, that a lifelong dream is coming true in a month. One more month and I will be on my way, actually we will be at the airport getting ready to board the plane for the trip there.
All my shots are done, just need to take the Duxoral so that we don't get Cholera, that can't be done until two weeks before leaving.... two weeks from now! Need to go shopping, get shoes and some clothes, need to go waxing too.... so much to do, so little time.

Walk in the Woods

Willow and I went for a walkie today at Harmony Creek Conservation Area, it was a beautiful day for it. We worked on some obedience and she did a great job.
